Two people were killed when a tanker carrying chemicals rammed into a stationary cargo container truck and a mini-truck here early Sunday before hitting an electric pole and bursting into flames, police said.
The accident took place around 3 a.m. at Mahuvar village on the Agra-Jaipur national highway, police said.
Two people, including the tanker's driver, were killed while several others received burn injuries, police said. The tanker from Agra was heading towards Fatehpur Sikri at the time of the incident.
Achnera Police Station's Inspector K.P. Singh said the fire probably started when the tanker hit the electric pole.
Fire tenders from Agra put out the fire after several hours during which vehicular movement on the highway was affected, police said.
