UAE, Egypt writers to launch forum against terrorism in 2014

Sharjah, Dec 29 (IANS/WAM) Writers associations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt will launch a culture forum against terrorism as a joint cultural initiative next year.

Habib Al Sayegh and Mohammed Salmawi, chairmen of the Emirates and Egyptian Writers Unions respectively, announced the initiative Saturday.

Al Sayegh said the forum's first edition would be held in Abu Dhabi in May 2014 and is open for all Arab writers.

He said the forum will have a joint secretariat general and a website and account on social media networks.
