Indian weighlifters Ravi Kumar Katulu and Punam Yadav finished 10th and seventh in their individual events of the Asian Games at the Moonlight Festival Garden Weightlifting Venue here Tuesday.
Katulu lifted 313 kg (141 kg snatch + 172 kg clean and jerk) in the men's 77 kg category. China's Xiaojun Lyu topped the category, lifting 375 kg. He set a new Games record of 175 kg in snatch and 200 kg in clean and jerk.
In women's 63 kg category, Punam lifted 200 kg (90 kg snatch + 110 kg clean and jerk). Chinese Taipei's Lin Tzu-chi set a new world record to top the category. She raised a combined weight of 261 kg to create a new record.
Lin lifted 116 kg in snatch to set a new Games record and hoisted 145 kg in clean and jerk to set a new world record.
Vikas Thakur will compete in the men's 85 kg in Group B Wednesday.
