City-based United India Insurance Company Ltd. has decided to go for a customer relationship management (CRM) solution and would soon float a tender for this, an official said Friday.
"We have decided to go in for a new CRM solution in order to mine more business from our existing customers by cross selling and up-selling," a senior company official told IANS.
The request for proposals will be soon floated by the company, according to the official, who did not wish to be identified.
The second largest non-life insurers in the country with a premium income of Rs.9,266-crore is also in the process of finalising a consultant to accelerate its growth. "The process is on and it has to be submitted to the board," the official added.
Last month, United India's chairman-cum-managing director Milind A. Kharat said that some business verticals of the company were not doing well and it was time to re-organise them.
The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) completed its United India assignment in 2009 after handholding the company in implementing its recommendations like setting up of large corporate branches and tapping automobile dealers to improve business.
Company officials said that six consulting firms - BCG, KPMG, Ernst and Young, McKinsey and Company, Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers - have expressed their interest in helping United India accelerate its growth.
