Uttar Pradesh continued on Tuesday to be hot under the blazing sun with the met office saying that the monsoon is likely to hit Lucknow and eastern part of the state around June 10-14.
At 46.8 degrees Celsius, Banda recorded the highest temperature in the state on Monday, said an official of the meteorological office.
The state capital recorded 44 degrees Celsius, four degrees above the average for this part of the year, said the official.
The minimum temperature in Lucknow on Monday was 28 degrees which is likely to slip by a degree on Tuesday. The maximum is likely to remain the same.
The meteorological office has predicted thunder showers and dust storms in western parts of the state.
