Rio de Janeiro, June 29 (IANS/EFE) Uruguay forward Diego Forlan believes that his team needs to be renewed after losing 0-2 to Colombia in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup here Saturday.
The 35-year-old said that the loss was normal, logical and it should not upset anyone because the team needs reviving through getting young players, reports EFE.
Forlan added that the fans' love and appreciation is priceless and that his achievements in the World Cup were beyond his dreams.
Forlan, who replaced his banned teammate Luis Suarez, has a tally of 110 international matches with his first participation coming in the 2002 World Cup.
FIFA suspended Suarez for nine international matches after he bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay's 1-0 win in the group stage. He was also banned from participating in any football-related activity for four months.
