The US Tennis Association has announced that the men's and women's singles champion of the 2013 US Open would get a record $2.6 million as prize money.
The total prize money has been increased from $25.5 million in 2012 to $34.3 million in 2013, reports Xinhua.
Runners-up will take home $1.3 million each, semi-finalists can earn 650,000 and quarter-finalists will get 325,000.
There will also be $32,000 for everyone who loses in the first round.
