With influences from authentic Asian cuisines of Korean, Indonesian, Malaysian and Burmese, food store Foodhall's ongoing East Asian Food Festival's offerings are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
The festival on till July 7, in New Delhi and Gurgaon, allows you to explore interesting combinations of the traditional rice and curry with favourites like mushroom and glass noodles, yellow curry with red rice, Indonesian coconut curry with wild rice, Burmese eggplant curry with sticky rice and Star Anise red curry with jasmine rice.
Foodhall's extensive range of dips and sauces, that include Thai yellow curry paste, Burmese curry paste, Thai red curry paste, Peanut dipping sauce and five spice plum sauce, straight from Indonesia are capable of spoiling the customers.
Alongside, it has set up a cold salad bar offering glass noodle salad, Thai green mango salad, broccoli with white fungus salad and som tam (Thai raw papaya salad). There is also a Ramen Bar with different varieties of the traditional Japanese noodle soup.
"Foodhall has launched two popular ingredients - the Korean kimchi and Oriental pickles for the first time across all their stores in India as part of the East Asian Festival", said the organisers.
"One can also pick up fresh spinach and water chestnut dim sum, triple mushroom dim sum, chicken and prawn dim sum along with homemade noodles like egg noodles, whole wheat udon noodles, spinach noodles and Japanese soba Noodles," they added.
The Foodhall Bakery welcomes new additions like bao buns which can be customized with fillings as per the guest's choice. The spiced tofu bao or spicy chilli eggplant bao are a must if you want to heighten your taste buds.
From the French and Belgian bakeries, it offers a selection of Thapthim krop pannacotta coconut milk, jasmine tea cloud cake and the vegan lemon tofu cheesecake that uses silken tofu to present a refreshing dish.
The festival offers all the essential herbs, spices and necessary accompaniments in Asian cooking like Sichuan peppercorns, dried galangal, kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, star anise, five spice powder and bird eye chili.
It also has an extensive range of kitchen aids such as dimsum baskets, woks, grill pans, disposable range of bamboo skewers and satay sticks, asparagus steamers, sushi platters, chopsticks, soy sauce dishes, barbeque grillers, smoothie makers and juicers.
