Betting big on an offer which allows customers to take home its products at zero down payment and no EMIs in 2016, consumer durables major Videocon said on Wednesday that it is eyeing at a 30 percent sales growth this Diwali.
"We have curated some special deals this year such as the 'buy in 2016 and pay in 2017' scheme. The idea is that our customers not only spend more but get maximum benefits from their purchases. With these measures we are targeting a 30 percent sales growth over last year," said company's Director Anirudh Dhoot.
The company locked in sales of Rs 1,500 crore during the festive period last year and it has been targeting sales of more than Rs 2,000 crore this festive period.
"With a good yield, rural markets are expected to significantly contribute and splurge during the festive season. mix. We are expecting these markets to contribute around 30 percent to October-December quarter," Dhoot told IANS while responding to a query on trends in sales in rural and semi-urban markets.
The firm earmarked Rs 100 crore for promotions during the festive season of which one percent will be spent on carrying out the digital initiatives.
