Sunil Dahiya, managing director of Vigneshwara Developers, and two of his family members have been booked for fraud, police said Wednesday.

Dahiya, his father Daryav Singh and brother Sanjay Dahiya were booked for cheating, breach of trust and not returning investors' money to the tune of over Rs.1,000 crore.

Sunil Dahiya, meanwhile, fell ill and was admitted to a hospital here, police said.

"The three were booked under Section 420 (cheating), 406 (breach of trust), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code," Sushant Lok police station officer Naresh Kumar told IANS.

"We served notice to all the accused to join the investigation but the main accused said he was unwell and was admitted to hospital for treatment. Police will detain him soon," he said.

Ram Singh, an investor and complainant, said Vigneshwara Developers assured people "handsome return and possession of properties within three years" but even after six years "many projects do not exist".

Kiran Kumar, another investor and complainant, said they have been protesting and demanding their deposited money.

"We were assured that the amount will be returned by May 20 but the promise was not fulfilled," he said.

The case was registered after the investors protested at the realtor's office in Sector 52 here.
