Superstar Vijay and Shruti Haasan, the lead pair of upcoming Tamil fantasy drama "Puli", have crooned a peppy duet.
"We had recorded Vijay sir's portion of the song last month. Later, we got Shruti Haasan to sing her part and then merged both their voices together. The duet has come out very well," the film's director Chimbu Deven told IANS.
It has become a routine for Vijay to sing at least one song in his films lately. In his last four outings, Vijay has crooned chartbusters such as "Google Google" and "Selfie pulla".
"It's also the first time in a long time the lead pair of a film have crooned a duet," Deven added.
"Puli", which is said to be made on a lavish budget, also features Sridevi, Hansika Motwani and Sudeep in important roles.
The film is slated for theatrical release in September.
