The CBI on Wednesday registered its 10th preliminary inquiry in connection with its ongoing probe in the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.
The preliminary inquiry was registered over the unnatural death of Jitendra Yadav, a 21-year-old resident of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh.
The alleged unnatural death occurred in June 2007 in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. The deceased was an accused in a case registered by police in Gwalior.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has already registered 17 FIRs and launched nine preliminary inquiries into the scam in the Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam) -- or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB).
The Supreme Court on July 9 handed over the Vyapam cases to the central agency for investigation. More than 40 people linked with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances.
