A 50-year-old widow was shot dead by three men in her house here, police said Thursday, adding they were looking for her son-in-law and two accomplices.
Premwati, who lived with her 15-year-old younger daughter, was killed at Narela in west Delhi late Wednesday.
Police said they were hunting for Dinesh Mathur, the husband of the woman's elder daughter, and his two associates.
Mathur reportedly barged into Premwati's house around 9.30 p.m. and shot her dead after beating her and her younger daughter.
In her statement to police, the distraught daughter said she was raped by Mathur Oct 2.
"I had lodged a case against Mathur. He had been forcing my mother to withdraw the case against him," she told police.
The girl told police that Mathur killed her mother after she refused to withdraw the case.
