Actor Will Smith and his company Overbrook Entertainment are producing their own New Year's Eve TV special, and the latter would like retired soccer star David Beckham to be involved with the show.
Smith hopes to shoot the programme in Miami and feature close friend Beckham's Miami MLS soccer team in the special.
Smith is also tipped to perform during the show, which will be similar to Dick Clark Productions' "New Year's Rockin Eve", reports contactmusic.com.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "As of now, it's being shopped to the networks. It would feature musical performances, possibly one by Will. They want to do something with Beckham and his focus on his Miami soccer team.''
Overbrook Entertainment was founded by Smith and his partner James Lassiter in 1997.
The company has previously produced "Ali" (2001) and "The Pursuit of Happyness" (2006).
