Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Friday that the UPA government will strive to push through the five or six anti -corruption bills that are pending in parliament and create an atmosphere conducive for the bills to be passed.

"We will try to bring in the five or six anti -corruption bills that are in parliament and will try to create an atmosphere in parliament so that the bills are passed and our fight against corruption is taken forward. It will be our since effort. The women's reservation bill also happens to be one bill in parliament," he said in reply to a question at his press conference.

The UPA government brought the Right to Information Act, a major anti-corruption measure, in 2005 and cleared the Lokpal and Lokayukta Bill in the winter session of parliament last December.

The other anti-corruption measures pending in parliament include the right of citizens for time-bound delivery of goods and services and also cover areas of public procurement, foreign bribery, judicial accountability and protection for whistleblowers.
