A woman prisoner committed suicide in Jharkhand's Gumla district Saturday, police said.
According to police, Jagini Oraon committed suicide in a toilet of Gumla district hospital by hanging herself with her sari. She was admitted to the hospital a few days back after she complained of stomach pain.
According to police sources, doctors detected a problem in Oraon's liver and referred her to the state capital Ranchi for treatment but the jail administration failed to take her to Ranchi. Suffering from pain, Oraon committed suicide.
Her body has been sent for postmortem. Oraon and her husband were arrested for the murder of her nephew two years ago.
