Delhi Police told the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that it won't arrest AAP legislator Gulab Singh, who allegedly assaulted a junior engineer.
Justice Ashutosh Kumar allowed Singh's advocate H.S. Phoolka to withdraw his anticipatory bail plea after the police submission.
Earlier, the court had granted protection to Gulab Singh from arrest till October 14.
Gulab Singh has been accused of assaulting and obstructing a public servant from discharging his duties during the demolition of an illegal building.
Gulab Singh, the legislator from Matiala, approached the high court after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the sessions court.
Police had sought custodial interrogation of the Aam Aadmi Party legislator, saying a junior engineer was humiliated and assaulted at his instigation. Gulab Singh has denied the allegations.
