St. Petersburg, April 29 (IANS) Defending Russian Premier League champions FC Zenit St. Petersburg have seen this year's title slip further away after a 2-2 away draw with Kuban Krasnodar.
After opening the scoring in the sixth minute via Konstantin Zyryanov, Zenit then fell behind midway through the first half after two Kuban strikes in quick succession Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Danny's equaliser just after the hour gave Zenit a realistic hope of coming away from the match with three vital points, but the defending champs were unable to convert their late chances and were disappointed to end with the draw.
Zenit now trail league leaders CSKA Moscow by three points with four rounds to go, although the Moscow club also have a game in hand.
