Global restaurant search app Zomato and mobile-app-based transportation network Uber on Thursday announced a partnership to connect eateries and diners in 13 countries, including India.

"The partnership is being rolled out in 27 cities across 13 countries in Asia-Pacific, Gulf, Europe and North America regions to provide enhanced experience to diners," Zomato said in a statement here.

The NCR-based Zomato app has a wealth of information on one million restaurants across 22 countries in different geographies, with their features such as menus and photos sourced from its feet-on-street teams.

"The partnership will enable users to book cabs to their favourite restaurant for dining. The facility, which is available in Britain (London) and South Africa, will be offered in other countries," Zomato co-founder Pankaj Chaddah said.

The other countries include Australia, Canada, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Turkey, UAE and the US.

"We're looking for ways to make every meal, for everyone, a great experience. This partnership makes eating out more convenient with our app connecting to Uber services seamlessly," Chaddah said.

The US-based Uber makes cities accessible by connecting riders to drivers through its virtual platform.

"We offer our seamless app-based services in 300 cities across 56 countries worldwide connecting riders and drivers and now eateries through application programming interface," Uber Asia business head Eric Alexander said.
