Chinese telecom major Huawei is debating whether it should focus on its national origins or seek to win the heart of India by positioning itself as a global company for its CSR activities. One group feels it should actively associate itself with efforts to highlight Chinese culture and other aspects of the Middle Kingdom to build its image in India and forge cultural ties with India.

The other group feels this will send wrong signals, as if the company is trying to impose its own culture. A better way is to position itself as a global company with an Indian footprint as it would win more hearts. Let’s see which side comes out on top.
