With Uttar Pradesh supposed to elect a new Assembly by March 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is taking up its communication campaign in the run-up to the state polls with the precision of an advertising pro. The party has decided to conduct surveys every four months to ensure its campaign for the vital elections is politically relevant and in line with ground realities. The exercise will include an assessment even of the campaigns of rival parties to gauge their impact on people and on the BJP's prospects. Such assessments will allow the BJP to tweak its campaign according to the needs of the moment and also help it respond to rivals' moves appropriately, the party hopes.
