A magazine in Uttar Pradesh described Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's regime in the state as ineffective and corrupt. This was the perfect opportunity for some extra-enthusiastic SP supporters to show their loyalty to the leader. So, with great fanfare they summoned the local press and announced they would be burning copies of the magazine. What they didn't realise was that the magazine had a huge picture of Yadav on its cover. Effectively, the supporters did a very good job of burning Yadav's pictures to a crisp while shouting slogans in his favour. And the next day, all newspapers carried photos of the supporters burning pictures of their leader.
