A journalist by profession, All India Congress Committee (AICC) treasurer Motilal Vora usually knows how to handle the media, but he came a cropper during a recent visit to Durg, his hometown. Meeting reporters there, he criticised them bitterly for all the problems his party faces in his home district, saying reports of internal dissensions were pure media creations. Then a journalist pointed to an affidavit filed by a Congress legislator against his own party man and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey over corruption charges. The scribe said the media did not have the power to file such affidavits. Cornered Vora was forced to concede that this might have been “an exception”.
