Letters: Lok Pal without exceptions

Apropos your editorial “Step forward for Lok Pal” (February 1), lawmaking is the sole prerogative of politicians, and putting political parties out of the ambit of anti-corruption ombudsman shows their insincerity. Separating Lokayuktas from the Lok Pal has little significance for the aam aadmi. Unless there is a foolproof process for the appointment of an impartial and honest Lok Pal, the Central Bureau of Investigation is shielded against any interference or manipulation of its investigation by the ruling establishment and the political class is brought under the ambit of the Lok Pal, there can be no respite for the aam aadmi from corrupt leaders.
