Anand is the undisputed ‘Emperor of Chess’ once again. It is a matter of pride for all of us, particularly those belonging to Chennai. We congratulate Vishy on his success and wish that he adds more feathers to his cap! On this occasion, we also like to congratulate his proud parents.
While Vishy’s win took us to cloud nine, Gautam Gambhir played a fine knock at the Kotla stadium at New Delhi to hit a double century against the Australians in style. Earlier it was only late Vijay Hazare who hit two back-to-back centuries in test cricket.
VVS Laxman and Gambhir made centuries and lived up to our expectations. Perhaps these diversions give us solace since we are all worried about the financial fluctuations. Indeed a great day for India!
