Letters: Way to go, Mamata!

The success of the Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal civic elections proves that Mamata Banerjee is a force to reckon with in the state. The civic poll results are a clear pointer to impending political changes in West Bengal. Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has the trumps in the upcoming crucial state assembly elections because the civic poll results are reflective of the opinion of the urban electorate.

Also, these results have brought some lessons to the Left Front and the Congress. The people of West Bengal are now looking forward to seeing a responsible party in power. In fact, Banerjee has won over the hearts of the voters by striking a chord with them and raising her voice for them. Unfortunately, the Congress party and the Left Front were not able to change their mindset. They should have taken up burning social issues to reach the people in order to win the elections. No doubt, there will be a paradigm shift in West Bengal since the chances of the Trinamool Congress sweeping the upcoming assembly elections are high.
