In the last few days, the Tata group has taken two critical decisions. The first was the reopening of the Taj hotel which was ravaged by terrorists. The presence of Ratan Tata himself on the day of the reopening goes to show that he stands as one with the people of India. With such a quick reopening of the famous Taj, he showed to the terrorists that we have great resilience and will power and we cannot be let down by such gruesome attacks.
The second decision of the Tatas, to go slow on the Nano project and produce fewer numbers of the small car, proves that their strategy is in alignment with the sluggish market condition and there is no point in going so fast at a time when the automobile industry is undergoing a tough time globally. The Tatas have thus shown great business acumen.
