Soon after the incident (refer to the piece above), one of the thieves, who may have developed a type of Lima Syndrome - in which criminals develop sympathy for their victims - called the trader on his mobile from a local call booth to tell him that the bag with the booty intact had been dumped at a garbage disposal unit near a local college. He also begged the trader to come alone to collect it and not inform the police. Naturally, the trader preferred to keep the police informed. He duly recovered the cash and the police have put six people on a suspect list and have said they would nab them soon.
