Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay has a fetish for shawls. During the winter session of Parliament, Bandopadhyay found many opportunities to show off his shawls that he wears in a trademark style.
On Friday, as Bandopadhyay wore a red shawl, NCP member and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule dubbed him as Devdas — the iconic melancholic soul of literature and cinema. Bandopadhyay loved the title but when he told Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee about this new-earned fame, Banerjee quipped, “don’t get excited. You have almost become a senior citizen.”
