Left Front Chairman Biman Bose, a full-time party worker who lives in the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI(M) party office at Alimuddin Street in Kolkata, is hardly seen at any sort of social gathering apart from party events. Now, however, a photograph has surfaced with Bose attending controversial MPS owner Pramatha Nath Manna's daughter's wedding. Manna, who is now behind bars, used to run a money-deposit scheme like the now discredited Saradha. The photograph has proved an embarrassment for the Left at a time when it has been sharply criticising the Trinamool Congress for its alleged links with Saradha. Apart from insisting that his presence at the wedding shouldn't be dragged into controversy since it had no relation to the scam, Bose recently informally told journalists after a press conference that he has now "vowed" not to attend any wedding ceremony again.
