Saying it with intros

Introductions of chief guests are normally flattering but Anand Mahindra, chairman and managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra, recently told students of IIM Ahmedabad that he was chary of being introduced at any public function. "I was once being introduced as the chief guest at a convocation by a lady who meant well and might have wanted to say that 'Mr Mahindra needs no introduction' but ended up saying 'The less said about Mr Mahindra, the better'," reminisced Mahindra. He added that for that day his fears were allayed by Larsen & Toubro's A M Naik, chairman of IIM-A's Board of Governors, who gave him a "generous introduction".
