Whether a Narendra Modi-wave is sweeping the country or not, the financial sector is definitely bullish about the prospects of a BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre. So, how does one calculate the number of seats that the market is expecting? One investment banker's theory: divide the Sensex by 100. With the Sensex closing at 22,417 points on Wednesday, this banker says that the market is expecting 224 seats for the NDA currently. And the Sensex, according to him, will move likewise post-elections. So, 270 for the NDA seats means, 27,000 points.
