After becoming the railway minister in 2009, Mamata Banerjee had reintroduced fish curry in the Parliament canteen which is run by Northern Railway. But during the ongoing monsoon session, although Banerjee is regularly attending Parliament and an expert cook has been brought from Kolkata, the canteen has taken fish curry off its menu. The reason: The canteen managers (employees of the Indian Railways) feel that the quality of fish during the monsoon season cannot be guaranteed. So, the expert cook who landed in Delhi on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament is busy cooking different types of vegetable curries and dals for the canteen.
