400 booked for ABVP-SP clash

The cases were registered after ABVP and SP lodged complaints

Two BJP leaders and SP students' wing president are among 400 persons booked in connection with clashes between members of ABVP and Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha in a local college, which had left six students injured, police said today.

Cases have been registered against SP students' wing president Atul Pradhan, BJP's former legislator Amit Agarwal, party leader Sunil Bharala and others in connection with the violence which broke out yesterday, in which a Haryana roadways bus and other vehicles were also damaged,police said.

The cases were registered after ABVP and SP lodged complaints, they said.

Cases of damaging property in office of a district official, destroying government documents, violating Section 144, abusing and obstructing government work have been registered, he said.

Pradhan, SP district chairman Vipin Bhandana and 25 others were booked on a complaint filed by ABVP leader Gaurav Chauhan.

Bhandana registered complaint of loot and violence against 150 people. The Lalkurti police has booked around 400 people after its own investigation.
