With 2017 Uttar Pradesh (UP) polls round the corner, the Akhilesh Yadav government has started to push its flagship projects towards completion before the elections are held in the state.

UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) on Thursday directed its senior officials to ensure meeting of timelines related to two of the government's key projects viz. Trans Ganga Hi-tech City (Unnao district) and Saraswati Hi-tech City (Allahabad district).

UPSIDC Chairman Alok Ranjan said officials at the headquarter level should ensure regular and rigorous monitoring of the twin projects for timely completion. He was chairing the 293rd Board meeting of UPSIDC here.

He noted since the phase-I of allotment of residential plots had been completed in Trans-Ganga project, officials should ensure allotment of plots under phase-II was completed by November 30 in a transparent manner.

He reiterated for taking steps for linking the Trans-Ganga Hi-tech City to Agra-Lucknow Expressway, which is almost complete and gearing up for inauguration.

Ranjan noted UPSIDC's flagship projects be widely publicised to attract investment to the state.

Besides, officials have been asked to provide all help to entrepreneurs, so that they experience the growing 'industry-friendly environment' in UP and resolving issues of investors on priority.

He added in view of future requirements, the UPSIDC ought to create sufficient land bank and infrastructure facilities, so that more investors were attracted in UP.

"Efforts be made to achieve cent per cent physical and financial targets for the current financial year," he underlined.

Ranjan, a former UP chief secretary, is a key aide of Yadav and also officiates as his Advisor.
