Congress leaders from the three units of Shekhawati region of the state today expressed dissent over the party's decision not to give tickets to "deserving" candidates for the December 1 elections and said they would not vote for them.

Alleging that the party neglected "deserving" candidates "to appease others with no poll future", general secretary of Youth Congress Ramniwas Birodi said that the decision humiliated the ST, SC and OBC from the three districts of Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu covering 21 seats.

He along with Zila Congress Committee's Arjun Lal Verma and SevaDal Chief organiser Surendra Maharia alleged that state Housing Board Charmian and former MLA Parasram Mordia's name was dropped at the eleventh hour to appease a non-Congress candidate Govindram Meghwal, who represented Lokdal and BJP in the past.

They also alleged that sitting MLA Rita Choudhary was denied party ticket from Mandawa seat to adjust two-time loser and PCC President Dr Chandrabhan.

A senior ST leader and sitting MLA Gopal Meena was the first to get ticket for the polls while yesterday Shankar Lal Meena, a rebel, was given ticket, they pointed out, adding that this would affect the poll equations of the party.

"We have decided not to vote Congress candidates, who have been given tickets," they said, adding, that separate letters of resentment were sent to the PCC and party high commands.
