Hitting out at Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee Monday said the country cannot function on "mohalla sabhas".
"A country cannot run on the basis of mohalla sabhas (neighbourhood assemblies)," Chatterjee told reporters here.
He added that the "attitude of cooperation" no longer prevails in the society.
"There is no attitude of cooperation anywhere. Everybody wants to show that he or she is better than the other," he said.
He added that though "everybody is here for the country", it is the party, personal and sectional interests which take precedence.
