Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday said she was "very happy" with son and party vice president Rahul Gandhi's comeback speech in the Lok Sabha and said the party will continue "raising" issues concerning farmers.
"Yes, very happy," Gandhi said when asked by reporters whether she was happy about the speech of her son, who was back in action after a 56-day sabbatical.
"We will continue raising issues related to farmers," Gandhi added.
As she was busy meeting a farmers' delegation, she was not present in the Lok Sabha where Rahul participated in a debate over the agrarian situation in the country. An aggressive Rahul slammed the Narendra Modi government over the plight of the poor, especially the farmers.
"Was meeting delegation of farmers who had come to the rally. Have heard that he (Rahul Gandhi) gave a good speech," she added.
