Speaking in the context of security environment in the country's neighbourhood, Chief of the Air Staff said "any future operational response will demand an integrated strategy and employment of service specific strengths in a joint operation".
The Air Chief Marshal was addressing the cadets of the National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khadakwasla near here.

"You will have to be prepared to face multitude of challenges -- almost on a daily basis. While high quality of training in NDA has given you solid foundation, the onerous responsibilities you will shoulder from now on would demand tremendous maturity, courage and stamina."

Air Chief Marshal Browne gave away the President's gold medal to cadet Manoj Kumar. The silver and bronze medals were bagged by cadets Yogesh Dhami and S S Ithape respectively.
A total of 296 cadets passed out of the premier defence training institute, which mentors future officers of the three services.
The IAF chief, who retires on December 31, also undertook a sortie of Sukhoi 30 fighter jet from Lohegaon air force base during his three-day visit to the city.
He revisited NDA, his alma mater (he is alumnus of NDA 39th course) as the Reviewing Officer after 43 years.
