Hours after Supreme Court granted her interim bail, AIADMK General Secretary and Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today appealed to her party members to maintain calm and not to comment about judiciary, its procedures or the judge who sentenced her to four-years jail term.

It may be noted one of the conditions, while granting the bail, which the Apex Court placed was she should tell her cadres to maintain law and order situation in the state. This was the first time she communicated with her party workers after she was sentenced for four-year imprisonment and Rs 100 crore fine by the Bangalore Special Court. Jayalalithaa has been in the Bangalore prison for 21 days, since September 27.

Ever since Jayalalithaa was convicted in the case, her followers have held protests, hunger fasts and demonstrations in Tamil Nadu demanding her immediate release. During the protest they also criticised the Judge who sentenced her and burnt his pictures.

Jayalalithaa also said she is confident of victory in her appeal against the Special Court judgment.
