The incident followed the killing of two policemen in an ambush by the anti-talk outfit yesterday in the Dhubri district.
A joint team of the army and police had launched a massive combing operation in areas bordering Dhubri and Kokrajhar following the yesterday's ambush between Paneriguri and Makrijhara, sources said.

The security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, three grenades, a 9-mm pistol and several rounds of ammunition from the slain militants identified as Anu Brahma alias Mushka and Pranay Brahma alias Tepra, the sources said.
Combing operations in the area was continuing since yesterday after NDFB (Songjit) militants fired on a group of policemen who were returning after meeting some members of NDFB (Ranjan Daimary) group which will take part in the September 30 ceasefire talks with the government in Delhi.
