First ever Green Pre-engineered Buildings with world-class leak-proof technology in India

Pennar Industries, India's leading engineered metal products company, announced the launch of its new facility in Medak district near Hyderabad for manufacturing world class 'green' pre-engineered buildings. The facility has been set up by its subsidiary PEBS Pennar.

The PEBS Pennar facility was inaugurated by Shri K Rosaiah, Honourable Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh on 11th February, 2010.

Announcing the launch of the new facility, Nrupender Rao, Chairman Pennar Industries, said, “PEBS Pennar diversification is a key strategic initiative for Pennar Industries. PEBS Pennar Ltd has already secured an order book of Rs 60 crores. With the contribution from PEBS Pennar, consolidated sales of  Pennar Industries is on track to cross Rs 1100 crores in FY 2011.  PEBS Pennar itself plans to achieve annual sales of Rs 500 crore on full utilisation of the new facility.”

PEBS Pennar has been set up by Pennar Industries to diversify into the design, manufacture, supply and erection of pre-engineered steel buildings for use in setting up industrial facilities, warehouses, commercial centres, multi-storied buildings, aircraft hangars and sports complexes. The new PEBS Pennar facility is being set up in two phases at a total estimated cost of Rs 105 crore to produce 60,000 tonnes per annum. 

PEBS Pennar sources technical know-how from NCI Group, with sales of over USD one billion, and is one of the largest integrated providers of engineered building systems in the world.

Through its technical colloboration with NCI, PEBS Pennar is introducing the revolutionary Double-Lok® weather tight roofing system.  PEBS Pennar is the first pre-engineered steel building company in India to offer such solutions to its customers.

PEBS Pennar is a member of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and provides energy efficient green buildings, which qualify for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points under the sustainable sites, materials & resources, energy & atmosphere and innovation & design categories.

Pennar Industries has posted sales of Rs 557.65 crore for the 9 month period of April 2009-December 2009 (compared to Rs 499.05 crore for April 2008-December 2008) and EBITDA of        Rs 77.21 crore for the 9 month period from April 2009-December 2009 (compared to Rs 55.41 crore for the 9 month period from April 2008-December 2008). Pennar Industries is the market leader in India for engineered metal products for customer sectors like railways, road construction, automotive, etc.
