Prior to joining Lenovo, Ramprasad was the Associate Vice President at HCL Infosystems Limited. Beginning his career in the infrastructure business, Ramprasad's subsequent mandates involved handling the distribution and channel business in various capacities. He is credited with creating and nurturing Toshiba's laptop business in India, for almost a decade.
