RGIA gets clearance from AERA to increase in the UDF

All domestic outbound travelers to pay Rs.430/- and International outbound travelers to pay Rs.1700/- as UDF effective 1st November, 2010.

Consequent to the approval received from the AERA (Airports Economic Regulatory Authority), GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), the developer and operator of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad, Hyderabad will be increasing the User Development Fee (UDF) for the both domestic and international outbound passengers. The new increased UDF charges will be Rs. 430/- per head, for all domestic outbound passengers and Rs.1700/- per head, for all international outbound passengers (excluding service taxes). The increased rates will be applicable wef 00:01 hrs, 1st November, 2010.

Subsequent to the representations made by GHIAL to the Regulator and a Stakeholder Consultation being held by AERA on 29th September 2010 with Operating Airlines, FIA, IATA, consumer associations and related industry forums, the increase was considered on an ad-hoc basis.

The present UDF charges are Rs. 375/- for domestic and Rs.1000/- for international (inclusive of service tax)
