When Samsung partnered exclusively with SES Technologies, for its re-entry into the India market in April last year, any market share greater than 10% would have been a wonderful result for them.  Neither Samsung – nor the Indian IT market – would even have dreamed of market share figures greater than 20% in a period of hardly more than 1 year.

The actual achievement that SES Technologies has been able to deliver is a stunning – 30% + share, based on shipments in excess of 300k for the AMJ quarter!  With this achievement, Samsung has already overtaken Western Digital in the India market share, and now looking forward to reduce the gap with Seagate!

This is amazing performance is made even more special by the fact that the Samsung hard drive business in India had gone from its glory days of 3-4 years ago, to basically zero by the end of 2006.  There was a lot of negative sentiment in the market after the exit which SES had to overcome first before the business could be restored to heights greater than even seen before.

The close working relationship between SES and Samsung in Korea and the continuous creative efforts of SES’s sales team have been the corner stones of the remarkable recovery of Samsung hard drive brand and business in India!

With the complete range of Samsung internal hard drives being offered by SES today, from the fast moving and ever popular sizes like 160 GB and 320 GB, to the amazing 1Tb drives – Samsung is back!  SES also distributes the complete notebook range of hard drives of Samsung.

With 32% share of the India market already captured – SES is now looking forward to growing the share even further and capturing the No. 1 position as the largest selling hard drive brand.  Having already achieved No. 2 position in such a short period of time – being No. 1 is certainly not far away!
