Police say another seven of 15 fishermen who were aboard the craft when it sank Tuesday are still missing. The remaining seven were rescued after floating for 10 hours before coming upon a small island.
Police commander Col. German Alfaro said yesterday that the body of the dead fisherman was found inside the boat, which sank 40 meters (120 feet) to the sea bottom.
The boat "Miss Nushka" was lost about 83 kilometer (50 miles) north of the port of La Ceiba in heavy winds and waves. Alfaro said the search, involving military patrols and helicopters, would continue.
