Around three dozen people armed with sticks and sharp-edged weapons attacked the house of Jokhan Rajbhar in Munshipur village late last night, Additional Superintendent of Police Ramji Singh Yadav said.
He said that the attackers assaulted the family members in which Jokhan (65), his wife Hirawati Devi (62), Jai Prakash (40), Om Prakash (25), Tej Bahadur (35) and Sheela Devi (32) were injured.
The ASP said that all the injured were taken to the district hospital where Hirawati was declared dead.
