Actor Chris Evans is celebrating the birthday of iconic Marvel superhero Captain America.
The 37-year-old actor, who portrays the superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, posted a special message to commemorate US Independence Day as it also happens to be the 100th birthday of the character.
"Happy 4th everyone!! I love this country and I'm proud of how far we've come. Be safe today! Also, Happy Birthday to a very good friend of mine. I hear 100 is the new 20," Evans tweeted.
Evans has appeared as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in nine Marvel movies, that also includes special appearances in "Thor: The Dark World", "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Ant-Man".
The character, which was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, most recently appeared in "Avengers: Infinity War".
