11 booked for cutting off poling agent's tongue in UP

An FIR has been registered against 11 persons, including a former block head and his sons, for chopping off tongue of an election agent during first phase of Panchayat polls, police said here today.
The tongue of Mushtaq was chopped when he opposed forced voting by former block head Ramakant and his sons at Prajapati booth in Raniganj area during the first phase of Panchyat polls last Friday, police said.
On the complaint of an election candidate Umar, an FIR was lodged against Ramakant, his sons Dinker, Durgesh, Vinod, Adarsh, one Babloo and five others last night.
