11-year-old UK boy with an IQ of 162 joins Mensa

An 11-year-old schoolboy in the UK is believed to have an IQ higher than physicist Albert Einstein after he achieved the highest possible score of 162 on a Mensa brain test.
Owen Dunn, from Ingleby Barwick in North Yorkshire, England, scored a perfect 162 when he took the IQ test in February after being put forward by his school.
"We are so proud. It is such a phenomenal achievement," said Owen's mom Clare, 45.
Owen had sat a Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) when he joined Ingleby Manor Free School in September last year, and when his score was "off the chart", it was decided he should sit the Mensa test, the 'Gazette' reported.

"On the day he sat the test, the people there commented how young he was, and then a week later we got the results. Owen found out at school and he was allowed to ring to let me know," Clare said.
"I didn't think it had gone well - I thought I had done awful. I was shocked but happy when I found out," Owen said.

Mensa is the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world. Membership is open to anyone who can demonstrate an IQ in the top 2 per cent of the population, measured by a recognised or approved IQ testing process.

But Owen has landed himself a place in the top 1 per cent with his score.
Although Einstein never took an IQ test as none of the modern intelligence tests existed during the course of his life, experts believe he had an IQ of around 160.
